QUOTES:
"John Brunious was
one of the most respected and inspiring trumpet players
that has ever come out of New Orleans. He was dedicated
to his instrument and to sharing his love of traditional
New Orleans Jazz. He wanted to preserve this music
not only for today, but for generations to come. John loved
his family, his music, and his many friends and fans.
On a personal note, he was a generous, good man and
a dear friend, and we loved him. We will miss his humor,
great stories, and his presence in our lives." -Frank
Demond,
Trombone PHJB
"When I first knew of him he was
a be bop player, but by the time I got a chance to
play him he was already embarked on this Trad Jazz
Path. He taught me many songs in the oral method and
he pointed out that when I step up to play my solo
play the hippest thing I can think of and then play
something hipper on the next phrase." -Carl
LeBlanc, Banjo Player PHJB
"John was a proud musician who
consummated upholding his family tradition of musicality
and musicianship." -Walter Payton, Bass PHJB
